The biggest advantage of this type of flooring is that it is resistant to the growth of mould and bacteria, as well as slip and water resistant. Still, it does need to be cleaned from the accumulated dust dirt and other residues.

Depending on the intensity of use, you should hoover your rubber mats either on a weekly or daily basis, just like you would clean any other type of carpeting and flooring. Hoovering the rubber mat or flooring will remove the dirt and dust, and keep it sanitary and clean.

Also, once a week or more often, you should mop your rubber mat. Use mild cleaning solution and lukewarm water to properly mop it. Avoid pouring a lot of solution or water on the rubber mat, and keep it safe from harsh detergents which can actually damage the rubber surface. Use a gentler mop or sponge to wash your rubber mat to keep it intact and safe.

If you have a wet vacuum cleaner, you can use it quite efficiently. Again, use a mild detergent when you are wet vacuuming it. First, use a mop to dampen the rubber rug and apply the cleaning solution. Let it sit for about 10 minutes and then proceed to rinse it with the wet-vacuum cleaner and clean water. Remove any excess water while you are cleaning the rubber flooring.

If you have rubber tiles, it is advisable to wash them by hand with a soft sponge and mild detergent and water. Do not attempt to machine wash your rubber mats or tiles!

Make sure you remove spills on the rubber flooring as soon as possible to avoid them damaging the flooring by ruining the adhesives used for making it.

Keep chemicals away from the rubber mat. Some sealing agents can change the way the flooring looks, and harsh chemicals can cause the rubber to erode and can damage your flooring. If you need any other cleaning tips feel free to ask our cleaners!
